Covenant Transport is a trucking company based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This over the road job is built for drivers who already hold a Class A license but have little or no experience behind the wheel. You start by riding with a trainer and earn $600 a week while you learn the job, then move into team driving with set pay raises at 90 days and again at six months. Orientation is held every Monday and Wednesday, and you can also start any day using the online orientation.
Responsibilities
- Ride with a trainer during the training program and learn how the job is done
- Drive a tractor trailer over the road once training is finished
- Run as part of a team, which averages about 5,000 to 6,000 miles per week
- Follow DOT rules and keep your truck ready to pass roadside inspections
Qualifications
- Valid Class A commercial driver license
- No driving experience needed
- At least 21 years old
- Must meet all DOT requirements and qualifications
- No more than one serious traffic violation in the past year
- No critical accidents in the past year
- No DUI in the past four years
Benefits
- $600 per week while you are in the training program
- $75 for each clean DOT inspection
- Pay up to .55 per mile after training, .62 per mile at 90 days, and .66 per mile at the six month mark
