Responsibilities
- Haul freight over the road across all 48 states, with most loads east of I-35
- Run about 2,000 miles per week, with an average length of haul near 400 miles
- Handle 100 percent no touch freight, about 50 to 60 percent drop and hook and 40 to 50 percent live unload
- Keep a safe driving record and follow safety rules on the road
- Stay out on the road during training until you upgrade to your own truck (student drivers)
- Train and ride with new drivers if you take on the driver trainer role
Qualifications
- Class A commercial driver license
- New CDL graduates and students accepted through the PDOP training program
- Able to work legally in the United States
- Able to read, speak, and write English well enough to do the job
- Willing to stay out about 12 days at a time for the best earnings
- Trainer role: at least 1 year of over the road experience
- Trainer role: at least 30 days employed with US Xpress
- Trainer role: safe driving record
